You're nothing but a pack of cards.

Alice Dellal is queen of all that is cool, so it's nice to see that several Australian designers have referenced her trademark coiffe in their shows at fashion week:

Australian Fashion Week. Wooooot?

Though I'm generally quite psyched for Rosemount Australian Fashion Week, I was pretty bummed to see camilla and marc's offering:

Camilla and Marc
Admittedly I have no real reason to have high expectations of the label. I think I just want them to be good because I find the idea of a brother/ sister design team really sweet.

Nevertheless, and the cuteness of sibling creativity aside, it must be said that to take Balmain's Fall 09 collection as loose inspiration is one thing (and pretty much everyone is doing it at the mo.) To rip off pointy shoulders, metallics and distressed denim, however, seems a little schmucky:

Cue the Hot Cops.

In 2009 Cue has been celebrating its 40th anniversary. That probably isn't a good enough reason for me to splurge on this vintage dress from the label, being sold by ebay store Cops In Jeans for $149:

I've picked up a few really awesome vintage Cue pieces over the years, which makes me think that it would be pretty cool if they did some re-releases of certain designs. Raid the archives, dudes.

Do not tell me who killed Laura Palmer.

I've just finished season one of Twin Peaks and am well on my way to becoming obsessed. Plus, how steaming 90s-hot is this Rolling Stone cover?:
And Audrey's retro costumes are pretty beautiful, definitely worth a look (though these pictures don't do them justice):

Uffie is a Ed Banger

I hadn't heard anything about Uffie for about a year when I decided to google her the other day, and it seems she's dropped the ingenue look in favour of something a little more sexed up (perhaps appropriately, given the nature of her lyrics.)
I love her, but I think the image revamp might work a little better if she actually had some new songs to accompany it.

Love the Bomb.

Etsy store Glitter Paradise is selling this gem of a necklace, based on Banksy's Love Bomb design.
I wouldn't mind one of the little diver:
Did you know there were two of the little dudes in Australia, one on Swanston street in Melbourne and the other in Enmore, and BOTH have been vandalised!? Booo! Hisss!

the dolls come alive behind my back

I am deeply in love with this crochet dress, currently being auctioned by the ebay seller Dolly Dagger Vintage.I don't think contemporary fashion labels ever get crochet quite right but judging by how much dresses like this tend to go for on ebay, there's definitely a market for it.

Barbier is French for pretty.

For a while I was so obsessed with Georges Barbier's illustrations that I wanted to have one painted as a mural on my bedroom wall, an idea that now strikes me as the height of retardation.

I still think they're pretty but, you know, not that pretty..
